An “Instant Author Kit” is:

A ready to go, plug in your name BOOK that you SELL before and after your shows to make a bare minimum of $100.00 extra per show and as much as several THOUSAND dollars per show!

Someone has already invested THOUSANDS of dollars and months of time designing and creating this book, so all you have to do is put your name, picture, and website on it, and you’re now a REAL author (talk about the increased celebrity you’ll have in town).

Look, a few years ago, I heard of some Magician friends of mine using “Instant Author Kits” to make extra money per show.

They all said they were making at least an extra $100 or more extra at every show just by offering these $5 photocopied books. Well, I had never heard of such a thing, so they sent me their finished books.

They arrived, and they looked alright. I actually showed one to a veteran client and asked for her opinion on them. (I figured it’s a good idea to ask someone who is gonna buy these babies before I actually invested in one myself!).

She flat out laughed at me. She said what? $5 for this!!! Needless to say, she was NOT impressed. I then asked my buddies if they had any complaints about these photocopied books not being worth the money. Well, they didn’t say, but they also said no rave reviews either!

Well, this was frustrating. I KNEW there had to be a way to make this work. If these guys were selling just photocopied sheets of paper for $5, surely there had to be a better way to do it. I LOVED the idea that I could make an extra couple hundred bucks per gig, especially at DAYTIME school shows (which I thought you couldn’t sell ANYTHING at….I was wrong!).

I then knew I had to have a REAL book, not just some photocopied booklet. I had a gut level feeling. I knew if I had this, I could sell the books before and after my shows, it would raise my value (I could tell clients I’m an author, AND send them the book in my promo kit if it was for a BIG gig) and it would open up opportunities that I wouldn’t have had before.

If you’ve never written a book before, a few words of warning. It will take MONTHS out of your life, and cost you a pretty penny if you’re planning on having real illustrations and layout done. If you’re willing to put up with that, the payoff is worth it.

After I completed the book, I realized it would have been a heck of a lot easier if someone could have done all this for me. Unfortunately, no one had put together a real paperback book that I could buy the rights to. As I look back, it would have been a no-brainer if something like this existed. Dropping THOUSANDS of dollars and 6 months of my time was a hefty commitment.

Fast forward 6 months…

Once you get your own real book, you’ll increase your self-esteem and confidence like never before! Seriously, you’ll open up so many doors for yourself and be seen a STAR in your market that you’ll blow your competition out of the water!

Brad Ross told me, “Matthew, you’ve got to be perceived as a celebrity in your market, a hot in-demand performer that people WANT.” Brad was absolutely right AND my own book has skyrocketed by perceived celebrity more than anything else I’ve done. I’ve got local reading and art festivals, huge kids’ events, author events and MORE, all eager to feature me, my show, and my book at their event. Of course, I’ll be selling books, other Back of Room items, and getting media exposure and exposure to potential clients. If this doesn’t increase your stardom, NOTHING else will.

After I’d been rocking and rolling with my book for a few months, I let it slip to my magic buddies what I’d been doing. I shared that I had put together my own real book and that I was getting TONS of pre-orders at my school shows just like the big guys like Scholastic™ do! Not to mention I was using my book as a negotiating tool to close any big show that I was in competition with other magicians. Of course, they demanded I show them what the heck I was doing.

I Gave In! I Sold The Rights To A Couple Of Them, And Their Jaws Dropped When They Actually Saw The Books! Then They Told Me I Couldn’t Sell Them To Anyone In Their Market!

I didn’t even know if I wanted everyone to have the rights to this. I had an issue now. Do I say, Sorry, too bad and tell even my magic buddies I wanted it back, or give in and let more people have it?

I gave in to the pressure, so here it is! I promise you though….it’s not going to be sold to every Magician out there. How do I know? Because its not CHEAP. You’ll see what it is in a second :)  but it’s not gonna be $100 cause it’s worth a heck of a lot more than that. Giving it away would devalue it, and once you see this thing, it really is the Rolls Royce of author kits.
